February is Black History Month! Celebrate Black History & Celebrate Your Contributions:

AUTHENTIC BLACK EXCELLENCE: BLACK HISTORY MAKER & TRAILBLAZER is, Dr. Jasmine R. Gordon, D. Ed.! YES, THIS JAMAICAN GIRL OF VERY HUMBLE BEGINNINGS! As I celebrate Black History, I am also celebrating my birthday which is 2/21st.

*From walking to elementary and middle school for two miles one way on the stony dirt road with no shoes on for I had only one and it was for church. Years later my journey took me to places one could only experience through hard work and God's divine favor.

*The Atlanta Journal Constitution Honor Teacher Award in 2002 acknowledged me as Honor Teacher Finalist. From a group of 273 outstanding educators/teachers from across all school districts in the State of Georgia, only four [4] were identified as the “best of the best.” WOW, I WAS ONE OF THOSE FOUR!

*I thank God for gifts and graces and the PASSION to pursue EXCELLENCE! I was a fourth-grade teacher then, while also teaching as an adjunct (part-time) college professor.
